Love does not die

Our country grieves with with the people of Christchurch and those from around the world who have lost loved ones in the earthquake. In different ways this disaster has impacted on so many and we all want to comfort and support those grieving.

How can we truly convey in words what is in our hearts? What message can we give?

From my own experiences in life this is the one mesage I would give - no matter the impact death has on us all at such times, it doesn't and cannot kill the love we still share with those who have been taken from us.

When someone you love dies suddenly grief is sharp, it overwhelms you and the pain of loss is unbearable.

You feel adrift in a state of unbelief.

However, the love you shared does not die. It will remain forever within your heart.

Love is stored in a myriad of memories and those memories becomes cherished treasures, like a thousand shining candles of hope to light your way out of the darkness of grief and onto the path of a new life that will take you to a place of new beginnings - when you are ready.
