With the Christchurch earthquake in mind CANZ Member & Marriage Celebrant, June Manion, wondered where couples should go for their documents.
So she asked the Deputy Registrar-General, Ross McPherson and this is his advice.
"Probably the best advice is that they should visit another Registry Office. The nearest Registry Offices to Christchurch are Ashburton and Timaru.
The nearest Registry Offices to Hanmer Springs are Blenheim and Greymouth.
Of course, if they are somewhere else in New Zealand they just need to go to the one nearest to where they are".
