My poem about a celebrant's life

A Celebrant’s Life Is……
A special privilege, a time of
sharing other’s joys and pain and
empowering them to look beyond
what they perceive a ceremony that
celebrates life’s many passages, to be.

A Celebrant’s Life Is……
often hectic as we move in and out
of ceremony, be it a marriage or a death..
It is sometimes joyfully uplifting,
then sometimes we feel exhausted because
we give so much of self and then a little more.

A Celebrant’s Life Is……
exacting, exciting, educating but
most of all, it’s truly enlightening.
We have the privilege to walk beside
those in grief and to share the lover’s story,
so as celebrants, we are truly blessed.

As celebrants we share a special bond based on
the gifts of love, friendship, truth and integrity.
We share each other’s moments be they
rewarding and affirming or of the blooper kind!

But isn’t that the secret of our celebrancy bond?
That we are open to the light of love and spirit that
comes from all who care about each other
and are willing to share their wisdom.
So in gifting each other with our talents
this weekend we are receiving so much
more in return, and so the
circle grows.
