As celebrants we are often asked to say a blessing
or a grace before a mealso I would like to share this
blessing I wrote especially for a gathering of friends
sharing a Pot-Luck dinner at the beginning of Spring..
Spring Blessing of Food
As the earth emerges from winter’s deep sleep
and green leaves re-appear and blossoms bloom
we gather together to re-new treasured friendships
and share our new seasons hopes and dreams.
The shared food we bring is a physical symbol
of the spiritual blessings we gift to each other.
So as we enjoy this food before us, may we also
remember those who hunger not only for food
but for the spiritual enrichment of friendships shared.
